The mountain dulcimer has been an iconic folk instrument for the Appalachia region of the United States. Typically a lap instrument, the Flintwood Chromatic is a guitar-style version with a chromatic fret set instead of diatonic, which will open up scales that are not possible on a standard mountain dulcimer.
