The Lore
(Photos and video coming soon)
The Flintwood Lore has the style and feel of a classic folk instrument, handcrafted from North Carolina. It has a four-string design like a tenor acoustic, but with its smaller 1.5″ thick body, the Lore produces a sound that creeps into mandolin territory. With that in mind, the Lore has a 23″ scale length that will feel comfortable to six-string acoustic players that want to adventure into mandolin tone without completely having to learn a new instrument.
Much like tenor acoustics, banjos, or cigar box guitars, the Lore plays well in different tunings.
- Red oak body and neck
- Walnut fingerboard
- Spruce top
- Adjustable floating bridge with bone string rest
- Vintage style closed-back tuners with tulip buttons
The Wattson

The Wattson has the same Flintwood style and feel of the Flintwood Lore but with an electric attitude. Four-string tenor electrics have been produced by manufacturers like Fender and Gibson to allow banjo players to easily try a new instrument.
Much like tenor acoustics, banjos, or cigar box guitars, the Wattson plays well in different tunings. This allows an extra layer of unique sounds when double-tracking or accompanied by six-strings in a live setting.
- Red oak construction
- Walnut fingerboard
- Spruce top
- Four-strings adjustable roller bridge
- Vintage style closed-back tuners with tulip buttons
- Hot rail pickups
- Volume and tone control
The Heritage

“I started this adventure by building cigar box guitars. Sometimes it can be hard to find a good box with the right dimensions so I started making my own boxes and realized that I really enjoyed it. The Heritage is a tribute to the spirit of cigar box guitars and a reminder of how this all started.“
–Evan Hinshaw
The Heritage has the classic cigar box shape but with hardwood construction. Much like tenor acoustics, banjos, or cigar box guitars, the Heritage plays well in different tunings.

The Hillsong

The mountain dulcimer has been an iconic folk instrument for the Appalachia region of the United States. Typically a lap instrument, the Flintwood Hillsong is a guitar-style version with a teardrop shape similar to European instruments like the Bouzouki.
Like most mountain dulcimers, the Hillsong is fun to play and easy to get started on. The diatonic fretboard is easy to learn for all levels of players.
